The author struggled to assess and evaluate after years in the classrooms of public, private, and parochial schools of New York City as to his own development as an educator and what was really achieved in his students’ lives, morally, educationally, and even spiritually through crises such as human rights struggles, the September 11 terrorist attacks, and the pandemic and war and peace.
Michael Thomas Gilbride spent more than 30 years in the classrooms of New York City, both as a teacher and as a school psychologist. Though currently retired, he continues to work part-time with autistic children and their parents. Michael seeks to reflect on several crises in his life and career and how he overcame so much with the simple love of one person – his wife Providencia.
